FAQ - Can the vehicle I rented be driven by someone other than me?
Yes. At the time of picking up the vehicle or afterwards, there can be a maximum of 2 additional drivers. Each person documentation must be provided (Identity Card / Citizen Card, Driving License).
This extra service will have an additional cost.
What should I do if I have a problem with the car?
You should contact our Reservation Central (+351 289 542 160) and / or Travel Assistance (+351 210 443 723).
How should I proceed in case of an accident?
You should always call the authorities. You must report to Auto-Prudente and return all documentation related to the claim (Police report) to our office as soon as possible.
Can I choose the model of the car or have the confirmation of the vehicle I prefer?
We only make confirmations regarding the vehicle group. Auto-Prudente can only guarantee the reserved group, not the model.
What is included in the price?
– VAT (at the current)
– Liability insurance
– Insurance CDW (Collision Damage Waiver)
– 24H Assistance
Is there a minimum age limit for drivers?
The minimum age of the driver and additional drivers is 23 years.
Drivers must have a valid driving license for at least 2 years.
Are there any mileage limits on rentals?
No. Except in Commercial Cars Groups C3 and C5 where there is a daily limit of 650 Kms.
What methods of payment are accepted by Auto-Prudente?
– Credit cards: MasterCard, Visa.
– Debit cards.
– Cash.
What identification documents do I need to present to the Auto-Prudente counter when the car is picked up?
1) Driving license, issued more than two years and valid in the EC;
2) Identification document: Passport, Identity Card / Citizen Card;
3) Taxpayer’s Card for residents in Portugal;
4) Valid Credit Card;
5) Proof of address for residents in Portugal;
Can I extend the rental duration?
Yes, it is possible to extend the duration of the rental. You should go to Auto Prudente office beforehand. The extension is subject to availability of the vehicle and an additional payment.
Parking Penalties, Tolls and Other Traffic Law Violations
Parking fines and any violation of road code are the responsibility of the customer who must pay them before returning the vehicle. Fines received by Auto-Prudente after the end of the lease, the contract holder is identified with the competent authorities. In the same way, all values due to tolls, parking or other similar occurrences during the rental period are the responsibility of the driver.
How to find the Auto Prudente representative at the Airport?
The representative of Auto-Prudente will be identified, waiting for you at the arrivals with a sign with your name.
Can I drive the Auto-Prudente car in Spain or other European countries?
It is possible to leave the Country (Spain) only with the prior authorization of Auto-Prudente and upon payment of an additional Fee. You are not allowed to drive in any other country.
